Great decision to buy
i bought this LCD T.V. from a electronic store near my house. i never
thought i would knew how much i saved. the picture quality is great
when you finally get the right picture tuning i watch alot of sports
football, Basketball etc.... the hi-def picture is great on this T.V
i saw a part of ultra-violet the movie on component and it wow-ed me.
and i bought the T.V. right then.
Pros: the firmware upgrade is simple to follow, & i heard this LCD is
capable of doing 1080P when it only say's it's able to do 1080i
& i was excited when i heard that. plus the LCD will have more
updates in the coming time which is fantasic.
Cons: None i could think of
all in all i am very happy to have this T.V. it's first Hi-def T.V.
and i think my decision was good at buying it may not be a Sony or
Samsung. But if you have a lot of patience & time to adjust the
picture quailty you won't be disappointed. i've had this T.V. 2yrs
& it has been a great T.V..

Do not buy Olevia due to lack of service
I bought an Olevia 42" in 2007 and it worked fine for approx. 16 months. Currently, it has been in the shop for approx. 6 months. The repair part was very difficult to obtain and failed within a few days of bringing the unit home. The television shop is now having problems getting the parts distributor to warranty the part. The almost complete lack of service/parts availability has convinced me to never buy another Olevia. I suggest that others pay a little higher price and purchase a TV from a reputable company.

Great for the price!
Bought this for 799 on a day after Thanksgiving Day sale. The price was right and it was 2006 when we bought it so it has been 2.5 years. Last year the TV went out and we didn't know what to do. I think we found some board games under a pile of dust. Anyways, it was simple to take the TV down and replace the fuse that's in there although the only place that has one is radio shack as it's an odd size. Since then no problems as we have hooked it up though a battery backup box that conditions the line. For the price it was great, but the contrast has improved and 1080i was the only thing available back then. 1080i is outdated and and 1000:1 contrast is old school with 1,000,000:1 ratios out and about. Amazing for it's day with no regrets here.

do not buy
Tv was bought 2006, was good till this year...when the power on failed. I have to press power about 30 times before this thing turns on. I don't live in the U.S so Olevia won't even entertain my call.
What a rip off.If anybody knows what is wrong with my TV lemme know.

JUST WATCH OUT
AFTER 8 MONTHS OF OWNING THIS TV WITCH STARTED OUT TO BE A GOOD TV THE PICTURE WENT OUT SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER FACTORY WARNTEE 4 MONTHS LATER AND MANY PHONE CALLS TO THE COMPANY THE EXTENED WARNTEE TOOK OVER THEY DON'T HAVE PARTS FOR THEIR TVS SO IT COULDN'T BE FIXED AND YOU DON'T GET ALL YOUR MONEY ABACK IT ENDED UP COSTING 0. FOR A TV THAT DOSEN'T WORK SO GOOD LUCK WITH THIS TV YOU COULD BE GETTING TOOK
