Customer Review: Look for something else.
This has terrible motion blur in fast-moving scenes (or even medium-speed scenes), due to its high 12ms pixel response time. It is also very difficult to see detail in low-lit scenes, due to its 800:1 contrast ratio. In dark scenes, distinguishing what is going on is impossible. This TV was a huge disappointment. After doing much research, I have learned that you need 8ms or lower pixel response time to avoid motion blur on LCDs and contrast ratio at least 10,000:1 (recommended). Try to look for those two features (among others) when choosing an HDTV. This particular Sharp model is very basic. You could find better quality for your money with a different HDTV.
Customer Review: Great Value / Excellent Picture
This TV is an exceptional value. Just received this yesterday from B&H and am very pleased. The picture (especially sports) is supprisingly good with very little blur, concisidering the contrast ratio and other specs are slightly below many higher end models. Using the component cables, DVDs look to be fantastic, I played Star Wars Episode III and really enjoyed the sound quality and pucture. The remote is easy to use, menus are easy to follow and the set-up was a breeze. I’m please with the purchase- The stand quality is high and the input jacks are firm. I don’t have a lot of usage experience but based on value, picture quality, sound and harware quality would give this TV a 5/5.

Customer Review: perfect for the bedroom
The Sharp Aquos is perfect for my Mom’s bedroom. She loves the fact that the tv is white. It blends in with her furniture. The size is just right, and the quality of the picture is excellent. Great color too. She has it sitting on her white dresser. It looks much better than her black tv she had prior to getting the Aquos.

Customer Review: amazing picture, menus a bit slow.
awesome TV, amazing picture, but seems Sharp did not get the good CPU for this TV’s menus, or did not write the software correctly, because the menus kinda hang, switchin input is a big pain.
If you need to switch from Input 1 to Input 5, and there is no signal on Inputs 2,3,4, it would temporarily freeze on either Input 2,3,4 or more than one when you are making the switch.
Customer Review: Had the potential of being the best, but manufacturing defects a huge issue
This set has a lot going for it. Great picture and nice ergonomics with decent speakers. But one serious flaw remains. BANDING! This is my third set from Sharp after the last two were replaced. Each set had a different degree of banding than the rest.

Customer Review: Sharp Aquos LC52D43U satisfied with Non HD quality
My primary goal was to get a large screen TV that is good with regular Non HD channels because most of the channels that my family watches are Non HD being Indian language channels which may take a few years to convert to HD. So I recently purchased an LCD from a big name TV maker 46 inch 1080P and did not have a very good image when viewing Non HD Indian satellite channels. I am not sure if this is just an issue with that particular set or with the model itself. I returned that TV and got a Sharp LC52D43U and am much satisfied with the image of Non HD channels. The packaging, the stand and overall externals also looked quite good. I cannot rate the reliability of the Sharp TV because I have had it for just a week but the picture quality for Non HD is good. There are two dimensions to enjoying a large screen TV. One is the larger image and the other is the better quality / higher resolution picture. If you watch a lot of Non HD content, it is best to ask the sales person to hook up the TV of interest to an antenna or regular cable and test the set out for the picture quality because there are a lot of large screen 1080P TVs out there that have poor picture quality for Non HD channels.
